MEMORIES OF BALI – KUTA PARTY SCENE
Visiting Bali would not be complete without checking its party scene. I did not miss it for the world. Back in 2004 Bali was wrecked when terrorists planted a bomb in the middle of Kuta where a number of foreigners died. Today the tragic event is remembered by a monument where all the names of those who perished are written to remind us of the horror of terrorism.
Fast forward 2012. Bali is back on its feet and Kuta is the center of partying in Bali. I visited 3 bars. Vi Ai Pi, M Bar, and Discotheque. Each bar had a unique feel to it. But one thing was prevalent – people were wasted in the bar. I had a great night from bar hopping. I would definitely check it out when I return to bali.
Tips:
-Make sure you arrive at around 10/11PM. Party starts usually at those times.
-Wear comfy clothes. No need for dress ups. You can wear your board shorts and sando’s (men), beach shorts and and bikini for women.
-Foreigners are prioritized in some bars. If your Filipino make sure they understand that you are not Indonesian because we look like them.
-Taxis tend to give rob you with your money especially if your wasted. So make sure you make arrangements with a taxi. You can rent a taxi for 200,000-300,000 RPH per night. They may take you from Kuta to Sanur or wherever the party is.
-Don’t talk to a local especially in the streets. They may offer you recreational drugs such as ecstasy. You might get in trouble.
